MSF: Listening to the community

Listening to the community
At the end of 2021, Doctors Without Borders started a community health pilot project in Sila, eastern Chad. In this project, the role of the community is no longer that of «beneficiaries», but rather they participate strategically in the decision-making of the medical program.
Following this approach, the video project “Listening to the community” captures the community’s health situation, as well as its expectations and suggestions.
We organized participatory video sessions, where community members could collectively reflect about their ideas and messages of the video. In addition, scenes and testimonies were filmed in the region following their instructions.
A first edition was later publicly screened, and the community was able to make their final comments on the content of the video.
